oDesk Real Review

oDesk is one of my favorite sites to use when I’m in need of some extra money. The site has two types of accounts; you will be required to register as a worker or an employer. I use oDesk as an employer and have spent over oDesk Review$5000 dollars on the site.  When you’re looking to find an appropriate writer for your task first make sure the writers have extensive experiences and are willing to send a proposal for your posted job.  What I also like about oDesk is you don’t have to sit back and wait for users to come to you can search through the thousands of writers available and find one that suits your needs, then reach out to them.

Do More with Less on oDesk

Why it’s better than all the others: Unlike Scriptlance and other similar sites the worker must provide you the completed work before you are billed. Unlike other freelance writing sites, oDesk does not make you pay up front or keep any money in escrow. You only pay once the work is done, which is why I use oDesk every day.

As a content buyer, you can pay the writer by the hour or a flat rate per article or per word. If you should choose to pay by the hour, another oDesk favorite is the software that will keep an eye on hourly writers to be sure they are working when they say they are. Hourly writers are required by oDesk to install their proprietary software on their computer. The writer then logs into the oDesk system to work. The software takes six random screenshot pictures per hour during which the writer is logged in and makes them available to the buyer. If the buyer thinks that they are not working, they don’t have to pay for those hours. This is the main reason I am writing this odesk review, I want everyone in the world to know of this service as me and many buyers love this feature. It protects you from paying writers who are over-billing.  Although in the eyes of the writers they feel it violates their privacy and doesn’t accurately capture moments when they may be thinking or researching the article online.

Why Is Fair for All: The oDesk review system allows a buyer or workers to file a dispute over hours worked, most of the time the buyer and writer can work it out themselves before seeking out an oDesk review. However, there may be times when a disagreement cannot be worked out and an oDesk review is needed. Someone from the oDesk review team will look over the complaint on both sides and help resolve the problem. The majority of problems are resolved through the review process. Like any website, there may be scammers who don’t pay, which is why the feedback system is in place. Feedback allows users to see if past work proposals were handled well or not. Those with low feedback should be avoided, while those with high feedback can expect lots of proposals for any work they post. Between the feedback system and oDesk review process, both buyer and writer are always covered.

I Give oDesk a 9/10 and would recommend you use them for any online projects.

The ones that aren’t scams actually rqruiee work on your part – and if you’re in need of money soon then you’re likely to be sorely disappointed in any of those as well. Most of the legit opportunities out there take time to build – so if someone makes an outrageous claim of income it probably isn’t true ( and those that are true sure didn’t make that kind of money when they first began ).Time effort rqruieed – but do your own research on what is best for you, don’t take the advice of myself and others as gospel from this type of forum.I have other ideas that may help – one of them is an online opportunity but another is one that will rqruiee a little effort to market yourself – try some data entry for local businesses, many of them don’t have the time to do it in-house and will gladly pay someone else to do it. Professionals are a good place to start, lawyers, doctors, chiropractors, etc – they need their in-house folks doing other things rather than busy work.Hope it helps!

oDesk is not a scam but there are a few scammers who made an ugly reputation to other freelancers/buyers over there. All in all, I am satisfied. I made an article about oDesk also.

Very good site and great article. After being onnile for over 10 years, I still can’t believe how many people are still running scams. I have been sammed many times and lost thousands of dollars. I began writing articles about scams a few years ago, and it’s good to see others telling of the scams onnile.Very good job!

I agree with Christina, odesk is legitimate. It’s the people who take advantage of their service are scammers. Whether they be acting like employers who runs away and not pay the contractor after getting the work done or acting like a contractor who, after being paid, disappears and leave the project undone. A friend referred me to http://www.staff.com and by far, I have never experienced any contractor leave the project in the middle of the dessert. They have hands on crews who make sure contractors get the job done.

Odesk is a good organization. However, what I find revolting is the pittance that many businesses pay writers and other service providers. Some of the businesses that claim to be massive businesses pay so little. I am of the view that many of these businesses are
      scammers.

Before you accept a job, make a careful study of people that hire you. If, ZERO payout has been made so far, be cautious. If somebody wants to hire “Martians or lunarians only” you have enough intelligence to come to the conclusion that Scrooges run these businesses.
